On Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, 2009, I dragged the stepkids to the Flagstaff Photography Center, which held a family-friendly costume party for the event. There were bins and racks of costumes and dress-up clothes.
Later, I was approached by a reporter from the Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff’s daily paper. I gave a brief interview, forgetting that I “jauntily wore a lovely pink-flowered lady’s hat.“
I didn’t adorn the dress and scarf until later, after all of the kids were gone except my stepdaughter. I kept her entertained by letting her dress and pose me anyway she pleased, and then she took pictures with my phone. This also entertained many of the adults at the party. I’m sure more photos will turn up.
