This song takes four highlights from my long, embarrassing, history of carrying torches, and tells the true stories of how each torch went out. (Names have not been changed.)

Jodie Foster is the only celebrity crush I’ve contracted as an adult. It began when I heard her interviewed by Terry Gross on Fresh Air. Talk about your NPR ear porn. (Possibly this interview from 2002.)
Really, wouldn’t she be the ultimate trophy wife? Beautiful, intelligent, successful, and famous. If I prefer my wife to Jodie Foster, well, that’s saying something. That’s real love.
This is my first song of 2010. Yay.

March 12, 2010 at 10:28 pmYep that's all me plus the rhythm sequencer on the Micro BR. The snarly guitar was my Telecaster though my little Vox practice amp combined with one of the patches in the Micro BR.
And I forgot to mention that Ms. Foster is also an atheist. A dreamy atheist.
