First, let me say something in defense of Donald Trump. I’ve never been comfortable with the mocking of him for his obesity, his baldness, his incontinence, his cardiovascular health, his ambulatory issues, his tiny little hands, his erectile dysfunction, or any of his other physical issues whether evident or alleged. We should be willing to accept all of those and more in a president — and this is the important part — and we should even accept them in a president we don’t like, personally or on policy.
You see, I dislike Trump because of his corruption, his criminality, his mendacity, his mob-boss behavior, his bigotry, his sexism, his gaslighting, his fear mongering, his inciting to violence, his obstructing of justice, his embrace of Christofacism, his…
I could go on.
But most of all, I dislike and oppose Trump because of his open ambition to destroy American constitutional democracy, and his desire to become an emperor.
Which brings me to the inspiration for this sketch. Because I want liberal democracy to continue in America, I would support Joe Biden over Trump, no matter his infirmities – even if it were just Biden’s brain kept alive in a jar.
…or Kamala Harris
I don’t know if Biden will still be the Democratic nominee in November. I suspect he will. I will vote for the Democratic candidate no matter who.
Update July 23, 2024:
Welp, my instincts were wrong. Kamala will be the nominee. Four years ago I voted for Biden, thinking that he would be the worst kind of malleable moderate – someone who would need constant pressure from the left to counterbalance the pressures, temptations, and big money from the right. I was wrong about that too. In terms of the policies that matter most to me, Biden has been the most successful president in my lifetime.
Long live Biden’s brain!
The medium of this sketch is ball-point pen and colored pencils. I did a little tweaking in GIMP.

July 10, 2024 at 7:47 pmI agree 100%! I’d vote for Biden over Trump even if all that remained of Biden was a box of ashes.
