It’s been a long time since I did an an animated sketch (not counting using AI to animate my old sketches). Today I thought I’d do something “quick.” I probably spent 2 hours on this.
Unmute to hear the sound effects I performed myself, as I confused one of my dogs.
Hunting Flies in a Closed Universe
Plot twist: This this frog’s method exploits principles of non-Euclidean geometry: the tongue follows a curved trajectory through higher-dimensional space, re-emerging directly at the fly’s location.
Yes, this may be the same frog and fly represented in the higher order mentalizing being done in this sketch.
If I can keep my animation ambitions small – 5 seconds or so – I might do this more often.
Animated and drawn entirely in FlipaClip.
